Iran says U.S. shows Iranophobia

advertisement

TEHRAN, April 20 (Reuters) - Iran accused U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice of "Iranophobia" on Sunday for trying to blame Tehran for Iraq's security problems.

Rice said last week she would press Iraq's Arab neighbours at a meeting on Tuesday in Kuwait to do more to support Baghdad's government and shield it from Iran's "nefarious influences".

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

remember Condie Rice? We get so hung up on the lame duck in the white house that we forget the whole administration is really on lame duck status. Why is she even wasting money going there? She has no influence left, a this point she's just a distraction.

Actually, it seems there's a lot of "Iranophobia" going around...not only in the U.S., but also a lot of Gays there are also quite Iranophobic"

Krishna,

Two things struck me about the article. It's the first time I've seen Condie in the news for a while, and the notion she could somehow influence anyone to shield Iraq from Iran's 'nefarious influence' seemed doubtful. Aren't both al Maliki's and al Sadr's organizations rooted in Iran? Or at least they have ties there?
